side question: would you bid 4 rather than 3? Fluffy

*** Sure seems a minimum: 10 highs, no A,
BUT 6xD AND S-single leaves some bidding room after 3H. I try 3H.
Why doesn't partner have DQ for slam on?
Where did his bidding limit his hand before 4H?
Would he force slam with DQ added? 7 controls, key SA,
how does he quit 4H even here?

Is this IMPs or matchpoints?

The 3 bid looks obvious either way, but the form of socting might affect the line of play.

Win A
Play A at trick two.
If someone shows out, hope that diamonds are 2-2 and start playing them. On the fourth diamond discard a spade from dummy. The defense will get 2 diamond ruffs and the A.

If everybody follows to the A, play a trump to the K.

If trumps break:
Draw the last trump.
Play a diamond to the ace if West follows, otherwise to the9 if West shows out. If West follows with an honor, play East for three diamonds and finesse should he follow to the second diamond.
You have eleven tricks and if diamonds come in twelve.

If trumps are 4-1 start diamonds after 2 rounds of trumps by cashing the top diamond, which is under the defender, who still has two trumps left.
Next play a second round of diamonds.
If the defender with two trumps left is out of diamonds, he can only ruff a loser, so will likely discard.
Win the second diamond and now a play third diamond to establish the diamonds.
Ruff the spade return and play diamonds and discard first your last spade in dummy. Now the hand can not get forced further in spades.
The defense can ruff diamonds whenever they want but will get only a ruff and the A and at most one diamond if they do not come in.

This wins against trumps 4-1 and diamonds 3-1. It might loose when trumps are 5-0 and diamonds are not 2-2.
If trumps break you could guard against West having all diamonds, by inserting the 9 when he follows low to the first diamond, but this is not sensible at MP.
