Bidding is a bit outdated, so I won't let you bid this time.
Click here to play the hand
Please, log in before/while playing the hand, it is so boring to see only anonymous scores, registering is totally free, you don't even need a valid email address, all can be done in one step, furthermore, if you score badly (below average), your name will show as anonymous to other users, so only if you do it well will everyone else be able to see your greatness.

The answer is probably "because it's a poor play", but why can't you attack diamonds immediately?

That's what I tried to do and your site wouldn't let me! (Well, actually I tried leading a low diamond)

sorry I didn't think anyone would play a low diamond, its unnatural for me, but I should allow it.
Anyway when you clicked on the low diamond it should had tried to tell you the valid cards to play where ♦Q or hearts, highlighting them.

Yep, it showed me what I could play, either hearts or clubs. I'm sure it didn't show the ♦Q.
(Also, that's why you have me, so someone makes the stupid plays)
BTW: why Q and not low ♦? You have sufficient entries and it makes it harder for E to duck, no?

actually east ducking is what lets you make the contract!, I don't normally play low from Hx for a finesse, it is antinatural for me, I should rethink of it.
When I played the hand I didn't recap the distribution yet when I led ♦Q and it seemed like my best legitimate chance to make the contract was to find west with ♦K10, ♦K10x or ♦K10x(xx) with hearts splitting.

Damn, this should be impossible, clubs are only playable from dummy the way I programmed the hand... unless you got another database error, you seem to be finding those ones, I sadly (and I really mean it) have a very good connection to the server, so have problems to spot connection failures and their consequences.
Thanks for trying.

Non-bridge comment on the solution site: The panel on the right is very big, if I try to use your site on half of my (quite big) screen, the cards are no longer properly visible.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Thx Csaba, working on it, that is the comments I need to improve the page, do you think a sliding margin letting you pick the limit between the text zone and the rest (thus, for you, making the cards zone larger and text smaller which would spread the cards) would solve the problem?
if not please send me a screenshot (fluffydog at gmail dot com)

Yes, I'm pretty sure the sliding margin would solve the problem.

I don't see a good reason for East to duck ♦Q. But once he did, I found the line Nice problem!
