Playing MP, I opened 1♣ at the third seat, the robot responded 1♠ and I duly passed with 3 ♠s, as I didn't want to risk a 1NT going down with a minimum hand. The robot presented me 6 ♦ and 4 ♠. As a result, we missed a good ♦ contract.
Why didn't the robot bid its longest suit?

Do the bots play Walsh?

If GIB bids again then it's 3m and terms it a 'bar' bid - shape with limited strength.

Why did you not mention your longest suit?

GIB thinks it plays Walsh when skipping diamonds, but most assuredly does not from that point onwards. To the extreme where if it holds ♥5432 ♦AJT987654 it will respond 1♥ to a 1♣ opening, and then pass a 1♠ rebid. And after 1♣ - 1♦ it will rebid a 4 card major with a balanced hand. It's just a horrible gap in the system unfortunately.

So not a bar bid? In what circumstances does that occur as I've seen it come up a few times?

Yeah, that works over a 1nt rebid, so would have worked in the OPs case had they not passed. But seems a bit of a mess as a passed hand.
