A surprisingly large number of games that aren't Bridge fly under the radar.
You'll all be delighted to know that this year the best integrator in Massachusetts is (drum roll) Luke.
With a score of 1-0 in 5 rounds.
His surname is shrouded in mystery.

The math is like something out of "Gravity's Rainbow" by Thomas Pynchon. A friend said I needed to read this book: no, I did not lol. I think you are either good with math, or you do not have a clue. I am good with math but it would probably take me 4 hours, or should that be days(?) to solve, not 4 minutes, though I admit I can not remember most of the stuff learned in my youth :(

1-0 out of 5 sounds tough but challenging :)
I'm extremely rusty on anything that could possibly help

I asked my new best friend but may have blown it up with Problem 1
He/she/they/it seemed supremely confident, and demonstrated prowess with an initial simple problem

My suspicion, despite initial confidence is that he/she/they/it selected the wrong approach

I was impressed by initial viewing of the video :)

If 6 young people in Baltimore in 2019 want to be mathematicians will it be Brian, Howard or Luke?

Brian and Luke were both in the top five for the 2022 Putnam. Putnam does not list the order scores for the top five, an idea that I like a lot. I think Brian was 18 when he did this.

Quite a group. I think it is safe to say that all six are of above-average intelligence.

It's wonderful.

Here's a fun game - Aaronson's oracle.
How random are you?
