The late Phyllis Heller, one of Pittsburgh's outstanding card-players, used to say "I never open the bidding without 13 cards."

When I log in with the "v3" web interface, I see two ladies. I think the lady on the right has 14 cards. I confess that, in a moderately serious dormitory game, we once had a complex competitive auction, I think involving only four players, only to find, when the bidding was over, that we were working with a 48-card deck. I forget whether somebody had played a joke on us.

One of my "crazy bridge" hands is described:

Quote

Yes, the hands are correct.

Bid the hand normally and play exactly 13 tricks. If you do not have a card to play to a trick, just skip (you can not win the trick). If you are on lead and do not have a card to play, the first player in sequence that does have a card leads to this trick.

Of course, the hands are 15=14=11=12 around the table.
