just played in ACBL robot tournament #8738.
on board 6, GIB treated my raise to 2NT over opponents 2 S as a jump, then leaped to 6 NT. ?????
on board 9, GIB jumped to game when I showed suit preference. ?????

The amusing thing is you played 6NT on the 6th board of the other match you were in.Here's the hand.
Are you complaining about the 6NT bid, or the fact that 2NT is treated as 18-19?

Yes, GIB should stop calling this a jump bid when it clearly isn't one. However, GIB thinks your 2NT shows balanced 18-19 HCP; he expects you to pass with balanced 11-14 and to have opened 1NT with balanced 15-17. Since you've shown a balanced 18-19HCP and NorthGIB has a balanced 13HCP, 6NT looks right to him. For the full explanation of your 2NT bid:

for the first hand, even 2nt=17-19, GIB should have bid 4nt, 13 HCP with 4333 distribution is not enough for 6nt...
As to the second hand, it is a perfect 1nt overcall. X+2H= strong hand
