Team event, white/red
Your hand:
♠ 6543
♥ AK1082
♦ 92
♣ K4

Partner opened
Part RHO you
3 3 NT ??

If it matters: You play in a league and so far you have crushed your opponents. They are solid citizens. Partners 3 is "normal"- white vs red in first hand, so 6-7 diamonds, 4-8 HCPS.
Kind Regards

Roland

I'd pass and start with a high heart to have a look at the table.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Better to lead low with AKxxx. If partner has a doubleton honor, the low lead works out much better for your side; if a small doubleton, he can lead one back if he gets in first. Your diamond spots and the vulnerability (and your description of the meaning of 3 at the current colors) suggest that a diamond lead might work out terribly poorly for your side.

If partner craves a diamond lead, he can double 3NT.

With a 10-8 and a likely side entry? Don't agree.

OK. The 10-8 does increase the chance that they have only 1 heart stopper and decreases the chance that leading high will make the suit inextricably entangled. I still lead low, but I guess I'm not adamant that low is correct and high is incorrect.

I'd pass of course and lead low

Pass and lead a top heart. I have a very likely entry, so I can afford to start with a high heart.

Pass and lead a high heart. I have the K as an entry, so I'll lead high.
