1- IMP, 2 is not constructive, we dont play it, there had been times i bid 2 with 5332 hands but this is the first time i did with a 6 card fit. Opps being silent was a hint that pd has a good hand...anyway letme know how u feel about this 2 and what would you bid now and why ? (Note preemptive 3 bid was not available )

2 -

Non expert opponents, IMPs, lead vs slam

3-

Imps, 4 was leaping michaels 5+ and 5+ Major strong hand, plan your bidding

4-

Non expert opponents again, i know this bidding does not make sense, but what would you lead now, Imps. (3 was wjs )

5-

Imps, what is your call ?

6-

Imps, 3rd seat openings can be as light as 1 level overcall by agreement.

7-

Whats your call, imps.

Thanks for the replies

I would bid 3/4 preemptiv. If I do not have a preemptive bid I would change my system.

2. King of . It loses only when p has the ace of and we are cashing 2 off the top. If p has a or the ace we need to set a second trick quickly, or dummy will discard everything on the long s. W did not cuebid so it is likely that he has control.

3.5 P/C. Hopefully p will see that I lack control since I didnt bid 5.

4., I will try to get my ruff.

5. I am passing, p is short in , so he will definitely balance, if he has some values. I hope he DBLS.

6.4 . Could make, p knows I am passed hand and will almost never go on.

7.3, wtp.

0. Maximum of three problems per thread please. Not only is it hard to respond, but the thread becomes hard to follow with seven different discussions.

1. I can't imagine a hand with six trump where I wouldn't bid 4M immediately, and I'm not sure this is the one. Partner doesn't need a powerhouse for 4, I think 4N makes it possible partner is two suited. I'll pass - its not like I've shown much defense with 2, but I would feel better had I bid 4 the 1st time.

2. LHO sounds like great clubs and two spade pictures, and needs one red suit Ace: KQx Ax x AKQxxxx or KQx x Ax AKQxxxx. Here, I think we can foul up communications with a red suit lead if partner has both black Jacks, and declarer has at least two clubs. Either red king could work, but it seems a little more likely dummy has Ax / x than v.v., so partner has the A than the A, no? I've talked myself out of the obvious lead and gone for the newspaper lead...:P

3. 5 - hopefully this asks for 6 with a club control and is pass/correct without.

4. Partner seemed really interested in defending 4, and RHO needs to have something in spades to pass it doubled, so I think partner has good diamonds and HH or Hx of spades. Dummy sounds like 5062 and declarer is 2416 - I'll track a low trump and stop one heart ruff - the A seems too committal.

5. Pass, but I may get flamed for this.

6. 4 - One of Justin's rules - allow yourself to get pushed up one level, but not two. Its close, but wouldn't we make a limit raise if RHO passed?

7. Good problem. 4 seems like the truck driver's choice.

I assume 3 would be a limit raise, but it isn't close to this anyways as preemptive...just too good...this is the type of hand that does not fit description and there are many hands like this.
1NT forcing if playing 2/1 isn't the right call unless one deems a 2 spade rebid by responder the right description.
2 directly if 2/1 is constructive and doesn't apply as that insinuates defensive values.
4under normal circumstances says 0-9 hcp and a stiff or void and is my choice. I cannot risk missing game at IMPs, and I am down 1 or 2 at best.

1. 4 the first round and then we don't have this problem. I suppose I'd bid 5 now, but it's better to prevent...
2. 2. Hopefully they're missing AK in a red suit, hopefully not diamonds.
3. I don't know how to continue after leaping michaels, what would 5 be? How do I invite partner to slam?
4. 5. Partner asked for it.
5. 3. 3NT over 3. If I pass expecting double I'm losing hearts over partner's 3 reopening. This might be a terrible misfit though, pass is a strong second option.
6. Pass. Partner will do something if we have something.
7. 3. Partner is likely to hold the clubs, let's give some space for his 3NT.

Too many problems, better to open several topics.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Indeed. I'm not going to reply because I wouldn't be able to keep track of comments afterwards. Sorry, MrAce :)

FYP!

Not that it matters but I almost never reply to threads with more than 1 problem, I hate them.

Okay, you guys have valid point about multiple questions in 1 thread, and i agree with that. I thought it would be easy and fast since there is no play or defense problem in it, but i can see the difficulty to follow all the answers. Will keep that in mind next time.

I will try to seperate them for convenience. :)

That's much better.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

1) Pass for now. Pd is favourite to be a strong hand but we prob need short clubs in his hand to make 5. If 5clubs is doubled I hope my heart queen is enough. If pass of 5clubs I will bid 5spades. Will pass any diamond bid, doubled or undoubled. Partner is probably expert and won't double 5clubs with AKxxx, Axx, Axxx, x. In your methods I agree with 2spades - both opps have passed. Would remove the limit bid and play inv+ jacoby if I were you.

2) a heart. don't expect diamonds to disappear. prob the 9.

3)don't know strenght requirement for you. for me it doesn't need to be that strong of a hand. easy 4hearts for now and pass of 4spades. strong here is often leanght based. AJ98x, x, AQJ9xxx, x is great and might be enough. I'm happy being in 4. Close, but I'll be happy getting a safe plus.

4)expect anything but 5062 in opener's hand seems stupid. prob spadevoid with decl. small club seem to cater for most times we are setting this.

5) pass. will get into trouble less frequently compared to making a bet now.

6) 4spades. if partner has club ace it looks good. max -500 in any case. don't expect to set 4diamonds if 4 spades is a disaster so bidding on seems like the winning thing to do. if righty knows our methods he might be pulling a fast one but I don't expect it. AQJxx, xxx, xx, Axx is a great fit but not improbable. Spades rates to be good with partner the weaker he is so won't get X:ed every time bidding on is wrong.

7) 4hearts seem like money. 4h>X>3h.
