Aren't you supposed to add extra tricks when each side has all the minor honours in its own trump suit?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

jeez pd could you be any lighter?

give me a jack (or a 10 count with an ace) and I'd double from his seat always, and I admit I'd be awfully tempted to x also with this hand - perhaps even do it, so I should not be casting any stones
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

These days it is essential to have two double cards in your bidding box. One for light shapely t/o and high-level takeout doubles, the other one for sound t/o and high-level penalty doubles.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

When you make takeout Xs with the North hand, you accept that hands like this will burn you now and then. I still think it's the winning strategy (far more wins that losses) but this hand is exhibit A of the downside.

Likewise with the South hand .. you pretty much have to bid 5S (after all partner could really could have his bid) but the soft cards and duplication in club shortness are warning signs that if partner doubled on a mini then you are headed for a poor result.
If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it then how bad a decision could it really be?
