How is this supposed to be interesting to people?

Edit: Not a TV person ldo. Justin tells me I have to get into Buffy. Anyone?

How is anything on TV these days supposed to be interesting to people? Yet they watch it.

As for Buffy, that was an awesome show. So was the spinoff, Angel. In particular, the final episodes of both shows were outstanding.

Chuck has its moments.

Note: Buffy, the TV show, was a lot less campy than Buffy, the movie. I liked the movie, too, but for different reasons. There's quite a contrast between the two.

I have a lot of respect for the fact that both you and jlall offer the same opinions.

I'm convinced. I'll give it a shot. Trip report to follow.

In an attempt to sort of align myself with mainstream TV culture, I try to watch House when I can. I don't see how this show ever got popular. Every episode is EXACTLY THE SAME.

For me as well, life is way too short to waste time watching such stuff, but different strokes and all that. Maybe lots of folks find it somehow reassuring not to face unexpected twists of plot.

The point of house was not the suspense, it was the intelligent and snappy conversations between House and various people. The way he used to analyze Wilson and vice versa. Now that dimension has largely vanished and most dialogues are very dull and barely reach the intelligence of a 10 year old. Also, he is no longer addicted to Vicodin, somehow that was a very funny plot element, the way he just ate them up like candies.

I guess intelligent conversations are so infrequent for fox watchers that the novelty of such a thing in television programs is attractive to them.

Watch a series of rich intelligent people makes you feel like if you are smart and rich for a while, that's the main point I think.

In the last chapter I saw there was a guy who sawed off his finger, and putting it back costed 80000$, I wonder how can such a thing be so expensive really, but it is not the first time I see those numbers for cut off members in america. To me it looks like all it takes is to hire surgeon and a nurse for a couple of hours but what do I know.

It's all the fault of the unions - if it weren't for the SAG those finger replacements would cost only a fraction of the current digital $80K (of course, they would be done in Vietman by the child-slave/surgeon industry whose product use would be denied completely by WalMart and Anita Bryant.)

It seems everyone in my generation raves about how great The Office is. I'm way too far behind to catch up to all the things I've missed, but I agree it's a pretty funny show. I have no idea how many seasons the show has been running, but I've seen maybe 5 episodes and it's pretty enjoyable.

I've also heard good things about the Big Bang Theory. I might have to check that out as well.

Today is March 20, the first day of Spring, and here in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, it is snowing. ;)
Well, at least I had bacon for breakfast. :P

Here, 100 km north of Montreal, we are on the edge of a whopping temperature anomaly. (+9 C and about +7 C where we are).

All of our snow is almost gone (Usually only by about Apr. 15th) and the tulips are starting to come up. A nice sunny day with a high of about 8C. Global climate is all about variation and cycles. Our turn to enjoy our day in the sun.

Our heaviest snow is scheduled for later tonight - 9 to 12 inches. It reminds me of what Tom Hanks said in "A League of Their Own". "Are you crying? There's no crying in baseball!"

Well, Tom, there's no spring snow in Tulsa, either. Go figure.

First jogging this year,I made several kilometers ( it was harder than I thought >>>winter laziness :) ) on the Rhine riverside by beautiful sunny weather. No doubt the spring is here!

I opened the window today and the tree in my garden all flowered. Pretty beatiful someone might think, but all I can think is that I am allergic to most kinds of pollen.

I have increasing ambiguity in my handwriting because my 2's and z's are very similar. Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to make this problem disappear? I tried crossing z's but that just doesn't look good to me.
