Please just read the text at the bottom only, vote in the poll how many f's you can find on your first attempt

Depends on if you're including the whole post or just the text following the 'following text' or the text following 'first attempt'. I voted 2 Edit: (because I missed the F in scientific and all the of's... damnit!)

It's more than 2 even if you don't include the title.

Well clearly it's up for interpretation and is just a question on how you see the guidelines of the post. If this is a trick question then it's a stupid one so it must be in re how people interpret what's being asked. I doubt there's a real answer.

The answer you're supposed to get is 3 (I think.)

If you've done this sort of exercise before, though, you get a different answer ...

What have you been eating Magic Mushrooms

all you have to do is count the F's in the text on the bottom line (I could post some different tests) but they may be wasted on your thought process

kfay, I think you'd better quit while you're ahead. There is a trick, but it has nothing to do with the wording of the question.

Count the F's:

Do you still get 2 EDIT: OR EVEN 3?

You shouldn't. I had EXACTLY the same attitude the first time I ran into this exercise. :)

Just to help there are 3 normal answers to this test

3 is the norm, this is because The brain cannot process "OF".

4 is rare (this is what I did)

6 is genius or you have seen the test before

My vote was two. (If someone now says that mathematicians can't count, Han well tell them that they are wrong).

No, no. Han is a mathematician, and will say that two is the correct answer (for sufficiently large values of two).

I'm an astronomer, so two is well within the margin of error. BTW I got 3 the first time I saw this one.

Now I know why Gnome hasn't responded to this thread. The number is too small for an economist :)
