Assume 3-hands are robots. You (dealer) hold a 16HCP no-trumpy hand with 5 spades.
Bidding proceeds:
1N 2♣
2♠ 2N
?
2N by GIB is invitational (8-9)
What does a 3♠ bid by opener show? Just the 5th spade? Or extras & 5th spade? Is there a point range? Is it 100% forcing? If GIB bids 3N, how distasteful do you expect his spades to be? Would GIB automatically bid 4♠ holding three?
Does this change at all if Opener's suit is hearts?
I've seen some ambiguity in this area so I'm also wondering if this is algorithmic or a GIB backtest.

Bidding after Stayman with 5-card major

With a human partner I'd expect 3♠ to be accepting the invite and offering a choice of games.
With GIB I wouldn't dare bid 3♠ (and no difference which major) - this bid isn't programmed into its Stayman sequences. Will probably get away with it with a free robot, where based on generic rules I think it will raise to 4♠ with any 3 card support and bid 3NT without. But since it isn't properly defined and still says 15-17, I would expect an advanced robot to pass some proportion of the time, thinking you might be minimum.
