I don't see the robot go completely into the weeds very often, but it happened here, although, sadly, not at my table (or any table where South bid 1 in response to the 1 opening bid). At my table, North (which I played, of course) declared 2 making three, for a very poor score. This auction occurred at three tables (along with different auctions leading to 4 at three other tables):

Down six (undoubled). It seems the robot didn't follow the script (the explanation for 5 says "Cue bid... A; 26+ total points; forcing").

Nice. The biggest issue is a very well-known one; GIB has been told when it's right to make an off-shape takeout double, but doesn't have the foggiest how to continue with later bids. So other than in some very well-defined sequences, its partner always plays it for length in all of the unbid suits no matter what, so a 4-2 fit or worse isn't surprising at all.

Another is the definition of your first pass.. which in GIB's system promises 4 spades and exactly 6 total points. It bids 1N with your hand. Not to say that pass is wrong, but note that this "guarantees" East will never respond 2 to 2.

Not that a free robot would care, and bids 2 on points alone, but even an advanced robot bids that most of the time (occasionally 1N, occasionally pass) - not in order to declare, but in order to defend 2 that it thinks the opponents are now forced to with their known 8 card fit!

Who knows where 5 came from; definitely wasn't part of the much older GIB, so must have been a bug introduced along the way.
