I teach bridge to students and we often play on Bridgebase. During the course, I learn my students to think at least half a minute before they play. But Bridgebase doesn't like this because there is a timelimit of I think 20 seconds. Would it be a good idea to have an option to be able to change this limit for friendly games?

Yes!

This is already possible, assuming you are hosting the table. Set the 'permission required to play' box in the table options, and the time limit will be removed entirely.

The limit is not based on expertise, but on the fact that if the table is freely open to random players, they may disappear in the middle of the hand for no reason.

For robot tourneys, I suggest humans should have extra time to make 1st play, eg, 40 seconds.

Except for the "Express" tourneys, there's no time limit on individual plays.

You can also put "+slow+" in the table description to disable the autoboot for slow players.
