Unfortunately there is no way to improve GIB, so the only thing we can do is to be better partners for GIB.

Now according to system my 5♣ is an overbid, but it is an area, where there are many flaws in GIB's definitions, as this area is much more about distribution.

When the North bot passed I hoped I had escaped the dreaded slam bid from partner, and after the double from east it seems like all 3 bots was lost in space.

So how can we improve partnership here?♣

Well, the top went to the 3♣-opener, where the Bots ended in 4♠ EW. That is not my style, but an option, no I am more interested in the player that was allowed to double 5♦

Simple, just double and then pull to 5♣, now showing a higher range of HCP.

I will remember that, but when I try it I will expect the bot following its normal strategy og bidding, when they go down, and leave it in, when it makes :-)

Not to defend the Bots, but I do consider 5♣ over 4♦ an overbid.
I also have sympathy with the 3♣ opening but concede that is less mainstream and not particularly relevant.
