It is not completely straightforward. The best format is .png "portable network graphics". The file size is critical. If it is too big, BBO will not accept it.
There are free sites on the web that will resize your image, crop them and change the format.
You can put a different image on the Forum.
Sometimes when you load an image on BBO it can be visible to others but not to you. The reason for this is unknown to me.
