Another solution is to play the first step as a relay and make a higher response with weak hands. Thus:

There are some disadvantages with the approach to go with the advantages, not the least of which is complexity, but it is worth consideration if you like such methods, particularly if you can arrange the system to remove all 5332 hands from the 1♠ opening.
