Thanks Diana for directing these tourneys, much appreciated!
The amount of subs was very high. It is not ideal since Diana has to play and direct at the same time which is never easy but especially with so many subbings. I also understand that there were some technical problems that prevented players from being reseated.
I wonder if the introduction of the mobile client has made this situation worse? Last time I was in a train and lost connection every time we went through a tunnel or crossed a boarder. With a wired connection I have fewer disconnects.
Would it make it smoother to have two 10-board tourneys just after each other, in stead of one 20-board tourney?

The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Usually there aren't so many substitutions needed. What I generally do is, start with some number of random subs and silently replace them with BBFers as they show up online so that, in the end, we usually have an all-BBFer tournament. This time it so happened that we needed more subs than usual plus some unexpected subbing error which turned out to be intentional, but messed up my subbing plans
Anyway, now that we're regularly at 3-4 tables I have set up next week's tournament as a howell, robots allowed. That should solve the subs problem as BBFers can register with each other or with a friend (let me know in private if you want to invite a friend who isn't a BBFer), or with robots.
I'll be online abt one hour before tourney starts to add friends and partners to the custom list.
