MPs scoring, strong opposition. West leads the 8 (playing 1/3/5 leads). East will cover the queen with the king, or else play the jack.

Plan the play.

Looks like I need to establish a trick before my 2nd stop is driven out. Will win opening lead in hand and lead to A. Then x toward hand, hoping RHO will pop with H to continue . LHO now out of will be end-played when in with the remaining H. If RHO ducks the we'll hope they actually had a 7-card suit. Expect 5=2 or 4=3. Will finesse the Q. Will take the finesse then test 3-3 if still standing....

duck J (or play the queen and uck better if you are sure LHO doesn't hold the jack), they can put you down inmediatelly by playing a diamond if they are 4-2 and K is offside, but I don't see a way to make it on that case anyway.

The key play was at T1, by ducking the first trick, you can ensure the opponents don't set up the clubs and make the contract barring an unlikely heart switch. As a bonus exercise, how could East have beaten the contract? (yes yes, I know there's the gib button, but I thought it was cute playing both sides).

Duck the first club, don't play K or J.
