East is thinking about the lead when dummy tables his heart and club holdings before he is warned that he is doing it too early.
Sight of dummy becomes AI to East, who thinks that his best shot would be to play through AQx in dummy to find partner with the king and the ace missing.
The contract was played by several pairs, and all led a spade due to the failure of a double in clubs and the awful lead on the others.
East says that without the irregularity he would have led same as the others.

Displaying cards before the end of the auction period is a breach of Law 24. If the player could have been aware that the infraction could well damage the non-offenders, then the TD awards an adjusted score. In this case, I do not think South could have been so aware. However, there could be layouts where "feeding" information to the opening leader to obtain a more favourable lead would meet Law 23, and it would be irrelevant if it was accidental. On this occasion I agree the result stands.
