for a long time, I thought "ATB" was Asses the bidding, rather than assign the blame!
Any other mis-interpreted topic titles etc or was it just me

I was always confused when people called me a little old lady. When I realised they were just laughing at my play it was more understandable.

The proper response to "g[u]lp" is "typ[ical]". I *still* read those that way (so I use different words).

BJR. I finally figured out what it means.
Hint: I only see it when at a table with a French player.

I also thought BRB was BathRoom Break.
For all intents and purposes it might as well be!

When I apologized on-line to Terry, she would often reply "np". I just recently found out she was really calling me a nincom-poop.

I always have an internal LOL when I type "sp" to the table. In Romanian internet slang it's short for something very inappropriate to tell your pd when you mess up.

bjr is a little like ola and slm. brb can be bathroom break and I was in one online MMO guild where that was the default meaning in chat. When I first joined these forums I read ATB as "at the board", which is a chess expression. That was thoroughly confusing and for bridge it should be ATT anyway. And as for gto, well it is difficult to know why the opps like talking about their cars every time I go down in an easy contract and difficult to explain why Tourers are so popular amongst English bridge players.
