You are vul against not, in 2nd seat playing teams. RHO opens 3C - what do you do?
You play 4D as leaping Michael's here.

You're not good enough for leaping michaels the way I play it, 3 of either red suit has some merit, not sure which I'd pick at the time, but wouldn't want partner passing 3♣ out with say (A/x)xx, Axxx, Kx, Jxxx.

P probably won't expect a leaping michaels to be this weak. So I bid 3♥.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Everyone has heard about 6/5 come alive. I am not getting sucked into that at these colors with both the red suits when I have no meat in the suits. If we were to o/c in D we run the risk of passing on H, or partner bidding 3N, or a possible huge number. There are times when the opponents get to say double, what ever choice we make in bidding.
I am willing to wait and see what happens. Partner is still there, and although you might make a game facing little, (even slam) I am not so anxious to place my neck on the line.
Mark me down for the pass.

I use a 3S bid to show H+D with enough to force the auction to this (4) level. I try that.
I have an A + KQ in my long suits + void = good enough to risk 4-level.
The scheme: (over 3C)
3D: MM; 3H: S+D; 3S: H+D;
Dbl: 1-suit or 3-suits or bal without secure stops:
Pass: some other - left to partner to reopen (strain his gut over 3C).
4C: 6-controls, big: 4D,4H,4S: one suiter to play - judge your fit + controls, partner.
add: I think a lot of value/clarity to take 2-suiters out of other auctions, give those their due immediately.

I was a 3H bidder when given the hand. There was quite a split between pass/3H/4D amongst good players who have been given the hand away from the forums. I don't know the full hand, sorry.
