I chose 1NT but believe 2 is a close second choice. The AK of clubs make this hand quite suit-oriented opposite my idea of a takeout double. Partner's passes of 1C resemble other people's idea of a double, so style is a factor.

It is close to a jump response, but I am downgrading for having a bad suits and all my honors where partner is short.

Not close for me.

On values it is close to 2D, but that doesn't tell partner where I live.

1N -- even the prospect of scoring the last trick with the beer card can't get me to bid 2 with the moth eaten suit.

Looks like a very routine 1NT response to me and hopefully PD has extras and we get to our most likely game.
