So you're declaring 4, and 2 tricks into the play, you notice one of your opponent's cards is still in the board. I'm not particularly asking about the legalities, I'm just wondering what people would do if they came across this situation at the table.

For the vast majority of the time and for the vast majority of opps, I would draw their attention to it immediately. I can think of possible exceptions though ;)

Care to name them? Do the people who agree with you in the poll know the same people?

When the situation occurred with me some years ago, my opp was Brian Keable aka thebiker on these boards and I thought he would eventually through gritted teeth see the funny side so I played on and when trumps broke 2-2 in my 5-3 fit, I knew what was going on.

In a club game, unless it was somebody who deserved it, I would have pointed this out.

If I was playing in anything other than social deal-and-play bridge, for no stakes, I'd tell them. I'd hope to receive the same courtesy.

Of course, if it's a speedball, I'd probably be even less likely to notice.

At club evenings I'd tell him, during a tournament I wouldn't.
