Matchpoint club game. Partner is a very good flight B player, but you don't play with her very much. Opponents are weak players. System is basic 2/1: 1♣ promises 3, 2♥ and 3♣ are both weak preempts, 2♣ would be a minimum raise only promising 4 cards. No fancy gadgets -- your regular partner called you while you were on the way to the game, saying something came up at work and he can't make it, so you discussed system for about 5 minutes before game time.

How are the opponents playing their X if we respond 1♠? OK, probably a bad idea under the circumstances but would be classical.
