I know this is a big long shot but I'm a UK based Acol player looking for a regular junior partner. I consider myself to be a beginner but on BBO standards I'm intermediate. Don't play anything too complicated, just a few basic tricks/conventions but looking to improve and learn more

Cheers

Find out who is in charge of the youth/junior programme in your county. They should be able to help with events and/or matching you with someone.

There are also some youth/junior teaching weekends a few times a year. Contact the EBU for more information about these. Your county might run similar.

Or, if you are from Scotland (or at university here) or Wales, send me a private message and I'll put you in touch with the appropriate junior officers all of whom are on BBO.

I've only just noticed this so I don't know if you are still looking. If you are, I am an English junior player and can put you in touch with the appropriate people if you are based in England.

This may sound biased, but you should look at SAYC.

As for improving, I would recommend the following reading material:

-Barbra Seagram "25 Bridge Conventions You Should Know" (and other books in the series...)
-William S. Root "How to Play a Bridge Hand", "How to Defend a Bridge Hand"
-The various bridge websites, like bridgevaria.com, bridgeclues.com, and bridgeguys.com

I myself am a junior intermediate player, so rest assured that this stuff is good.
