IMPS, world class opponents, 1 was std 2/1 opening.

A-Pd and RHO passes, what would you do ?

B-Pd doubles 5, what would you do ? In both cases 1 overcaller passes.

I screwed this one badly, but i want to hear more what you guys/gals have to say.

Thanks

Just the opposite:

A - Dbl.

B - Pass.

I would double if partner passes. The club shortage means that I might get a ruff or partner could have a deep club trick so I think we'll get 300 more often than -550. If partner doubles, I will guess to bid 5 but pass could also be right.

A - Bid 5
B - Bid 5

Could I have I jumped to 4 initially, instead of just replying 1, to show this sort of hand?

Yep, pass / 5.

Important to note that partners double shows convertible values since we are not in a forcing auction.

Made all the easier to appreciate, given our diamond holding.

5, 5 with more confidence.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

I you guys, made me feel better.

At the table pd doubled and i bid 5. I could have made it but went down.

I asked both when pd doubled and when did not, because i dont think pd had a double. (or perhaps i need to talk to him about upto which level we play support DBL :P )

He had
