Well, on the given hand when I know almost immediately we want to end up in 7D or 7NT, the last thing I would want to do is show a heart void. I want to know what partner will show with her rebids.

Because 3N would show a decent hand and one or 4 keycards, 4 is the bad hand in context bid systemically.

Please change your system. Even if you don't want a natural 3NT, swap 3 and 4 so you save a lot of space when opener has a bad hand at the cost of 1 step when he has a good hand. Step 1 should be the weak hand.

The key to the hand is asking about aces and kings, you have to forget about the queen of trumps, especially if you play 4-card 1 opening bids (or have a way of finding out opener has a 4-card diamond suit).

For example:

1-2
2 (at least 5 diamonds)
2 (at least 4 hearts and not 5 diamonds unless 6-5)
2 (at least 4 spades, not 4 hearts and not 5 diamonds unless 6-5)
2NT 3343
3 (4 clubs)

Which looks perfectly normal.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Presumably with that structure, only the 2 rebid leaves the question of 4-4-3-2 in doubt. So, the diamond queen would have to come back into focus after 2 unless the style is to open 1 with that.
