It's about time we started some scheduled larger team events. Larger? I mean more than two tables.

We'll be hosting some Swiss Teams on Thursday, Friday, maybe Saturday. Want to play? If so carve out some time for 4 six board rounds.

Sign up with me. Putting together your own team will be best, but I'll try to get singles or pairs together with a team. Latecomers we'll try to accommodate but no promises.

We're thinking about 2pm EDT. If enough want to play at another time, we'll consider it. This could be the precursor of things to come, so come play with us.

Questions? Just ask.

Jacki :)

This is interesting to me, but the time doesn't. Something after 6PM EST would be much friendlier to those of us that work.

I'll see what I can do. Thursdays won't work but Fridays might.

OK, we're easy, let's try Thursday at 7pm EDT. If there's enough interest, we might even be able to do both times.

Very interesting and interested. Thursdays are out for me but 7 p.m. avoids some really bad TV. I will try to participate, recruit BBO friends as teammates and it just might grow.

I would love too, but i am giving teh ACBL all my money at the nationals and will be trying to get something back for it at 7pm on thursday. But I am all in for anytime next week.... if someone really brave would be my partner. I hope swiss teams become a fixture on BBO at some time. :)

seems like somewhat poor timing (given the nationals in Louisville).

Also, 7pm EDT pretty much kills this for any 9-5 working stiffs living on the west coast.

So here's where we stand on these team events now.

Tonight at 7pm, we'll run the first test. Tomorrow? Well it's still a work day for many and unless I have a lot of teams expressing interest, we will skip that day. But we will have another one (or two) on Saturday.

On Sunday, there's another event scheduled plus the finals of the Vanderbilt, so we will skip that day. After that, I hope to get team events on some kind of regular schedule - but I'll need your help. Your help=Your interest.

What I need to know

What are the best days for the most players?
What are the best times for the most players?
What is the best frequency for the most players?

In other words, this is a test which means the format (Swiss? RR? KO?) can evolve as the concept evolves. It could be a fun event or with minimal interest turn into a non-event.

It all depends on you.

Update:

Tomorrow, Saturday, 3/19, 3pm EDT, a Swiss event is happening. Send team lineups to email: jacki@bridgebase.com.

Singles? Pairs? Let me know ASAP and I'll get you lined up with a team.

I'm able to play at 3 PM; an e-mail was just sent. Inquiry, I think I'm brave enough to be your partner for tomorrow as well as next week, since I am on Spring Break.

Thanks. but as noted i am at the nationals now so will be unavailable until next week. I am sure others will play with you. We need to see if we can get the team tournaments running as they would be popular, but I am thinking short matches so the time is not long (of course team board a match, two boards per round would be great if the software supports that). Let's make this thing work!
