Hi @ll

The opening match of the World Cup 2010 is not more far away, so lets start the prediction competition. The rules are quite simple:

There are 48 matches in the "group stage" For every right guessed match = 1 point
Please post your guesses in this format:

1 - victory of 1st named team
0 - draw
2 - victory of 2nd named team

The exactly scoring result is not required in this contest.

AT the KO stage = 2 points ( the result after max. 120 minutes, penalty shooting not inclusive! so the draws are possible.

The group stage matches will be posted in 3 parts= 3x 16 matches.
The deadline for the first 16 is the opening day of the World Cup.

Here are the first 16 pairings to guess:

1) South Africa - Mexico
2) Uruguay - France
3) Korea Republic - Greece
4) Argentina - Nigeria
5) England - USA
6) Algeria - Slovenia
7) Serbia - Ghana
8) Germany - Australia
9) Netherlands - Denmark

11)Italy -Paraguay
12)New Zealand - Slovakia
13)Cote d'Ivoire - Portugal
14) Brazil - Korea DPR

Its a worry when the only person so far to have:

12) 0

starts off by saying "I don't know squat about this game ..."

But hang on isnt that a double negative

Go kiwi!!!!

Still decidedly intermediate - don't take my guesses as authoritative.
