I can sympathise with this deletion but what constitutes an inflammatory title is quite subjective. If the title and content is factually misleading and inaccurate I would be more inclined to ban it. However, the OP in question linked to an article with the facts of the case so in my honest opinion the deletion was ott. I really hope it was not my doing by mentioning the BW mods! The mods at Bridgewinners err on the side of deleting posts and I think this is totally the wrong approach. In their favour I will say that they are very good at suspending trolls once their behaviour is established. They got rid of one particularly poisonous poster there and then subsequently banned him when he posted under a pseudonym.
I will add that I appreciate that this forum has this thread so that mods get accountability when they delete. Thanks.

Your post had nothing to do with it. I found it borderline, and discussed with other mods then we decided to remove. The title was fake and misleading. We have no problem with the discussion itself, the headline used by the poster was the problem.
You're welcome to post or link to anything bridge related or not, but when doing so, choose a title that does not grossly misrepresent the facts.

What has happened to the new topic which was titled "Top bridge players convicted of gross tax fraud"?

But please feel free to lie as much as you want when posting to the thread because we don't give a rat's ass about that...
In all seriousness, if you're going to start getting rid of threads just because the titles are a little overblown, how about getting rid of the actual trolls starting with Al-U-Card?
This feels arbitrary at best.

Why did you do this? The OP’s opponent psyched, and you have now encouraged the OP to continue to think that this is improper.

Even if they do. Not allowed to mention it eh
I'll be more careful about upsetting powerful people here in future. I'm used to it by now. They always get upset on whichever forum it is. Goes with the territory

Hardly. You just don't get to say that people who do so are cheats.
