yeah... ok....
I don't usually do this, but this really cracked me up.
the 2N bidder, a self proclaimed expert had the following comments to make:
"p go somewhere and take some bridge lessons.............bye"
"I get just a little tired of these players who rate themselves advanced or expert and don't know crap about bridge bidding"
"I will be happy to teach players.............if they'd just be truthful about their level of play"
when it was suggested that Pass was a much better alternative to 2NT:
"what? it was Stayman.......with interference my call MUST be 2nt without a 4 card spade suit.........."
and
"my call was NOT a pass..............go read your bridge books........you are probably so old you still play old Goren bridge"

Ok, so south was a typical self-appointed expert.
If he must necessarily bid, 3D was better...
- If you hadnt told the conversation, I would otherwise though he tried to bid a Leb.
The question is, what would you bid in undisturbed auction?
say, he answers 2D or the very possible 2H??
.....................................
Bidding 3C as weak after that auction is feasible, I have myself played so when beginner and was entirely happy with it even against strong competition.
But later I learned 3m in such auction should rather be a slam-seeker in minor.
I get also taugh, having a 4M and 6m and weakish hand, if you have a decent transfer system, dont seek after 44 in major, as there is a substantial risk for uneven distributions around. It is safer to play in your known 6-2+.
Another tip on the same theme; if you have choice of trump, choose as trump the long suit of the weak hand. That hand is otherwise worthless. But with the long trump in it, it is worth several tricks, and you can also finesse into the strong hand.

2NT?
First question: Did 2C promise any values?
My guess is no, assuming you play standard,
because I guess weak with 4-4 you would also
bid 2C, hence 2NT is just ...
Assuming 2C does promise values, I would go
with X, you are bal., have max., have at least 24
between you, what are you waiting for?
I think 2C and 3NT are normal, one may or may
debate about 2C, but it is ok.
With kind regards
Marlowe
