I've watched more than 20 matches this eurocup, and I didn't see a single player sent off except the turk goalkeeper. It was really really hard to get a yellow card this tournamet, and even harder to get a second one.

I remember a comentator said during the final that there was a German player sent out also, for exactly the same reason Vulkan was sent out, but somehow the Turk player got 2 matches Ban, while the German only 1.

I didn't see that thing about the German guy, but I just think that more people watch Germany than Turnkey ;).

They did exactly the same, but Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB) is the most powerful football association in UEFA :)

I was also wondering why Schweinsteiger got only a 1 match ban.

I vaguely recall hearing that the Turkish keeper got a two match ban because after he got sent off, he went to the dugout and sat by his team mates for the remainder of the match, which he can't do because a sent off player is not allowed in the technical area.

I don't know this for a fact or anything, I just recall some commentator or pundit saying something along those lines.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

One possible explanation, although most likely
false.

Another explanation, involving some facts:
The Turk player attacked Koller, a big
player, and he pushed him, so that Koller felt.
The German Schweinsteiger attacked a player
from Croatia (not even very violently), and the
guy from Croatia (smaller) did not go down.

Additionally Schweinsteiger was fouled by the
player from Croatia, the UEFA simply said, that
the action commited by the Turk was more violent.

Spain were indeed very solid!

edit: told you Uwe B)

Unfortunately Spain played better than in the past.
For whats it worth: I never meant / said, they had bad
players, just that team spirit did not work, it did work
this time, lets hope after the coach left they will go back
to the usual state.

PS: I was really hoping to say, "I told you so", but I
will have to wait for the next competion.

the told you uwe part was about the Greeks sucking bad. only Romania played worse than they did
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Probably nobody will understand what it is said here

http://blog.franlopez.es/2008/07/02/la-pre...y-la-seleccion/

Its all the spannish press's front page about the national team, from 2006 to may 2008 thee just say Aragones sucks, Raul should be in the national team, Maradona says Raul should be in the national team, Van Nistelroy says the same, Del Bosque to follow Aragones after eurocup....

The final one (after eurocup) says, Aragones has a 2 year renewal offer :(.
