Just wondering, how many of you here are poker players?

I refuse to play poker any more.
My wife has the most unbelievable luck I've ever seen. She, my father, and I played 28 deals in a row, and she had the best hand at the table 27 times. Having the best hand 27 times in a row would occur once in every 2,541,865,828,329 times that your played poker. 27 of 28 seems to be much less, maybe once in every 1,694,577,218,885 times. And yet, she always has similarly strong hands.
You cannot bluff her. That's dumb. She always calls.
Plus, she is very economical in how she wins. If I have three Jacks, she has three Queens. If I have two pairs, Aces and Kings, 7 high, she'll have two pairs, Aces and Kings, 8 high. It never fails.
I make up poker games. Like, whatever I get is wild, except twos. For her, only the Joker is wild. I'll get four twos and something else, for five twos. She'll have four threes and the joker.
However, I suppose "unlucky at cards" applies.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

I play lots of 5/10 NL online, and some HU/3handed limit up to 30/60. When I have played in casinos its always been 1/2 NL or something (because I'm not yet 21 and very afraid of getting caught and them taking my money).

I play the 2-4 NLHE game at Mandalay (on a good night you'll see stacks from$200 to 2000) 3-4x a year. I dont consider myself that good, but I can usually beat the game.
Others may disagree, but I consider bridge to have many more themes than poker, and its tougher as a result. Poker is an interesting blend of tactics, psychology and skill, but I think its kind of boring compared to something like BAM. But then again I muck 3 out of 4.

I sometimes play poker online, but at many tourneys we have an after-bridge poker round which is kinda nice. Low stakes only.

I like poker, but it is hard to play with friends because either the money is too few and nobody cares, or it is too much and then someone gets upset.

I dabble in it from time to time. Definitely tho a rank amateur at it.
"Champions aren't made in gyms, champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. " - M. Ali

Haven't played since I was in high school almost 30 years ago. I wasn't very good.
