I think, we need a change at our logic then at the software.
The program, has to "pull" the TD to the tourney he is registered, as the program makes to players.
The reasons for this act are:
1) Many times, I stuck myself, at the main page of the tourney (those I'm a TD), insteade, to go to any table an kibitz.
That's because, the program don't "pull" me to the tourney as do to players.
2) Some TD's (forgett !!!) to be a TD when they are playing at "main bridge".
This is the time to "pull" them to their obligations.

:)

No - don't like it.

For a couple of reasons. The first is some tourneys list a lot of directors, any one of whom maybe hosting the tourney. There is no reason to pull all the other people.

No.

We had people being hijacked to play in team games when similar things happened. Now someone could hijack you to be a TD and you will get pulled to their tourney like it or not.

No.

It is the Tournament host's responsibility to know who will be directiong and if they will make it... run tounreys without dirctors and lose the ability to host them. Personal responsibility is important here.

Yes.

I think it would be ok to have the system generate a single message to all ilisted TD's that their tournament has started (or will start in two minutes, etc). That one alert should be more than enough. But even this seems unnecessary and a drain on system resources. It is very rare for a TD to be on lne and miss their tournaments...and if they do too many times, they are no longer TD's.

Agree with Ben, though it might make some sense to pull the host if they were a TD.

I think all TDs who are listed needs to be present.

Doesn't the software divide tables randomly into groups, and assign a listed TD to them? So if a listed TD isn't around, his group is going to be TD-less and calls for a TD in that group would receive a reply "no TD around".

N, missing TDs are not a factor when assigning calls to TD.

When I lose track of time the software does alert me to my obligations (excellent enhancement)

For example today it sent me
A sound alert accompanied by
->BILmanager: Automated message: STARTED: Tourney 383

Very handy when one gets involved in a discussion with a member and the minutes 'vanish'.

It is enough. Finding ones self in the Tournament Lobby would be a bonus but hardly a necessity.
