Mistakes usually cost but here is an amusing exception I intended to open 1♥ but mis-clicked 1♠ instead. GIB leapt enthusiastically to 4♥ (Splinter). With no easy escape, I passed. 4♥ was a miraculous make. 13 imps rolled in Twice the margin by which the challenge was won IMPS is a lottery

I have done same. I pulled out 2♣ card with a weak 2♦ opener. I was with a intermediate partner. she had a big hand so bid 4nt. I was in a panic so passed. 10 tricks in no trumps played by partner was the best score. lucky also

I haven't done this, but have opened (a weak) 1N with a 4(23)4 then discovered all my black cards were in fact clubs as partner transferred to spades, bid 3N for the routine contract.
